History of Tõstamaa Dairy goes back to 1936 and till 1998 it was a working dairy producing butter, milk, cheese ect. After standing empty and abandoned for more than 20 years it is now opened for tourists as a peaceful place to enjoy Estonian summer and country life.

The Meierei and its surroundings began their gradual transformation in 2015, when we started restoring the adjacent building as our summer home. At the time, the condition of the buildings was bleak—both houses were completely uninhabitable, the overgrown park was filled with dangerous trees, and the yard was scattered with industrial waste.

Step by step, the houses and the surrounding area began to take shape. In 2017, the summer house and garden were fully restored, and in the summer of 2021, the first hotel rooms and the pool terrace were officially opened in the main Meierei building.

There is still much more to be done…

Our photo gallery offers a glimpse into the Meierei’s history and how a long-abandoned, ghost-like building in the heart of Tõstamaa found a new life.

We have also shared more about our journey on the Visit Pärnu blog.

NB! We warmly welcome any photos, stories, or memories related to the Meierei. Feel free to get in touch via email or Facebook Messenger!
